CENTERVILLE, PA – A preliminary hearing was postponed Thursday for a Mon Valley man to allow his attorney to negotiate an outcome with the Washington County District attorney’s office in the vehicular homicide case that resulted in the death of his friend.

“I just don’t see this as a measure that’s going to do too much,” said Pittsburgh gun rights defense attorney David Shrager.
Shrager believes the issue is deeper than guns alone.
“There are a lot of people in this country who thing guns are the problem,” Shrager said. “I don’t think that’s the case. It’s a deeper issue. It’s a social issue that’s the case.”

Allegheny County, PA — A special needs teacher’s assistant for the Sto-Rox School District accused of sexting and having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student was released from jail Tuesday evening.
Matthew Bertovich, 24, was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $80,000 bail Sunday.
