UPDATE 5/1/2023 – We have selected a potential recipient and are confirming eligibilty requirements.

Shrager Defense Attorneys is happy to announce its 2023 scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to one student applicant in the amount of $2,500.

All eligible applicants will be considered, and the recipient of the scholarship will be chosen based upon his or her submitted essay.  As described below, the deadline for submission is March 31, 2023 and the winner will be announced April 30, 2023.

Essay Topic: Civic Engagement

Wikipedia explains that civil engagement is “any individual or group activity addressing issues of public concern. Civic engagement includes communities working together or individuals working alone in both political and non-political actions to protect public values or make a change in a community. The goal of civic engagement is to address public concerns and promote the quality of the community.”

Tell us about your civic engagement activities, i.e., something that you have done or participated in to help the community. Explain how this has impacted the community as well as your own development within the community.

Eligibility Information

In order to apply for this scholarship, the applicant must:

  • Currently be enrolled in a course of study at any accredited college or university (undergraduate or graduate degree program) anywhere in the United States, and
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Application Information and Submission Deadline

To apply for the 2023 scholarship, please submit the following to scholarships@shragerdefense.com by March 31, 2023.

  • Resume with updated contact information;
  • Your fall 2022 educational transcript;
  • A 500-750 word essay describing the topic discussed above.

Awarding the Scholarship

The winner will be notified on April 30, 2023. The scholarship check will be sent directly to your university’s or college’s financial aid office.
