Grand Jury Indicts Millvale PA Police Officer for Using Stun Gun Excessively
Case Update:
A federal jury convicted the police officer, Nicole Murphy, in November 2014. She was sentenced to three years of probation and 300 hours of community service. Millvale paid the man whose civil rights were violated and caught on video, Thomas Jason James Smith, $37,000 in 2014 to settle a civil suit he filed.

A grand jury has indicted a Millvale Pennsylvania police officer who used a stun gun on a handcuffed suspect while he was sitting on the floor. The police officer was indicted on charges of deprivation of rights under color of law. An anonymous person took a video of the incident in 2012 and sent it to Attorney Shrager, who represents the victim who was tasered.
