Kindergarten Student With Loaded Gun in Aliquippa, PA
Attorney David J. Shrager was quoted on the KDKA Channel 2 News regarding the kindergarten student who brought a gun to his elementary school in Aliquippa, PA. The five year old says that he brought the gun to school in order to get the gun out of his home and keep his 3-year old brother safe.
“These zero tolerance policies create untenable situations for children,” family attorney David J. Shrager said.
He says teach the boy and his mother about gun safety.
“He’s a 5-year-old child who did the best he could given the abilities that has. We have to judge him as a 5-year-old,” said Shrager. “We can’t hold him to the standard of a 15-year-old or a 25-year-old.”
The boy is now suspended from school and faces expulsion from kindergarten. Watch the full story below.
